Full of aromatic Thai basil, this quick and simple dish is a favourite of the people of Bangkok. Sometimes it is served hot over steamed rice with a fried egg on top.
Ingredients - chili, soy sauce, holy basil leaves, onions, soy bean oil, garlic, sugar and salt.
Chilli 25%, Holy Basil Leaves 15%, Soy Sauce (Soybean, Wheat, Salt), Garlic, Onion, Sugar, Soybean Oil, Salt, Fish Sauce (Anchovy Fish Extract, Salt, Sugar), Thickener (Hydroxpropyl Distarch Phosphate), Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein (Corn, Yeast Extract), Flavouring
Recipe for Gai Pad Kaprao (Basil Chicken)
Slice or chop 250g of chicken or your chosen meat.
Heat a wok or a frying pan and add 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil together with the contents of this packet. Stir until it becomes aromatic.
Add the meat and stir-fry until the meat is done.
Serve with boiled rice and top with a fried egg (optional).
