Double Seahorse Tamarind Pulp, made from the finest tamarind pods, is a natural, additive-free ingredient perfect for enhancing a wide range of dishes. Its rich, sweet-sour flavour and smooth texture make it a versatile choice for both professional and home cooking, offering an authentic taste with every use.
Unlike tamarind paste and concentrate which can be thin and watery, tamarind pulp is made of 100% shelled tamarind pods and hence a small amount goes a long way in recipes.
Tamarind pulp is often used in Thai cooking, it is diluted into a popular Mexican drink called agua de tamarindo, and is even thought to be one of the mystery ingredients in the original Worcestershire sauce recipe.
Soak the pulp in lukewarm water for 15-20 minutes before use. This natural pulp does still contain tamarind seeds, so be sure to remove them before blending the tamarind into a thick puree.
